So who's behind the pixels?
I go by
TL;DR
Firstly, what's Waita Hako? It is a small phrase that sums up how I try to move through life and work, with gratitude, even when things are messy or unclear. For me, design is a way of making sense of the chaos. Creating a good experience is my way of saying thank you to the people who use the things I help make.
Who am i? I have been designing for over eight years, from interfaces that make complex tasks simple to products that aim to make a real difference. I have worked with startups, large teams, agencies and NGOs. Across all of it, I have cared deeply about clarity, empathy and finding ways to bring meaning into the work, even if it is subtle.
Some of the projects I am proudest of include shaping the COP28 digital experience across iOS, Android and web, rethinking the Citi Velocity trading app, and helping John Lewis Partnership bring more consistency to their digital platform.
Along the way, I have been a finalist for Yuno Juno’s UI/UX Designer of the Year, a Shorty Award finalist in the Website/App category, and a Creativepool nominee for Best B2B Project. My photography has been featured in a few magazines. It is a different creative outlet, but one that still shapes how I approach detail, emotion and composition.
Lastly, I have recently moved back to the UK, reconnecting with old rhythms, people and places while holding onto what has changed in me. That shift has made me more intentional about the work I take on and how I show up in it.
Waita hako for your time, and waita hako to those who have trusted me to help build things.
And if you are wondering, it is pronounced “why tah ha koh”, each syllable clear, with a bit of warmth.
